ski southeast

those were the words of the website that came up when i did a google search for ski north carolina. i looked a the page for a few moments with a kind of dazed look on my face. "hmm, ski south east... those are the two directional points that you never want to see following the word ski, haha. i went on to read about sugar mountain which boasts the greatest vertical drop in north carolina... north carolina's finest ski resort. haha, well, it was fun. it snowed all day saturday so the snow was good. however, it was saturday and the mountain was a little crowded. when we got there i looked up and said, "where's the rest of it?" :) the four lifts are all doubles that tinker up to the top with a few mid-mountain drop offs (nice for the youngsters). i went snowboarding with joe and sarah, two of the chiefs at e-ma-etu (my new friends). good news: there are som Christians here. my roommate is a Christian and so is sharon. i think we'll go to church sometime. but not until after this 3 week training session is over. (i'm kinda excited about it... church and training actually) for all of you back home: snowshoe is the place to go for skiing and snowboarding according to down here. so, go team! way to represent wv!
