Kickball

last wednsday we had a party day. why? because the single greatest holiday worthy of celebrating was only 4 days away? no. well,... maybe. moreso the reason for celebration was because the next morning we were sending the campers home. not just the good and well behaved, but all. every single camper went home. which left us, the staff, off. free, if you will (and you will), to relax, play together, visit family and friends, sleep, and worship! it was wonderful. so to celebrate the break we partied all day wednsday... and what party is complete without kickball?! we played for about an hour. it was prolly my favorite time at camp yet. which is kinda sad... but still good.
so many of you know my birthday was last friday. well, the 7th. it was my first day alone in group and my oh my, it was perhaps one of the worst days of my life. i had a camper refuse to move for 2 and a half hours... for no reason. it was hard. other campers manipulated and used me. i cried a lot. and i didn't sleep that night. because there were 12 girls sleeping nearby and i was responsible for all of them. i mean, i understand that they are responsible for their own actions and decisions, but at the same time i felt a profound appriciation for what new or worried parents must feel lying in bed and wondering... will my child stay home tonight? will my child make it back home tonight? oh dear. the thought of whether this is something i can really do has entered more than once. but always the peace and assurance of Jesus comes just when i need it. this is where i am supposed to be. why? i do not know. i definately am not having fun yet. but here i will remain, in the hope that His purpose will soon be revealed. but also in the faith that i'm ok, because i'm His. and that is enough.

this is Easter. the day we remember the resurrection of the man of heaven from the dead and His victory over sin and death. today i claim partnership in this miracle. i too am victorious because my Lord Jesus fights for me. i share in the victory. where o death is your sting? i am free.

Hey, Rachel, we missed you today @ the Bible Study. It was good as always. Thank you so much for the nice note. I appreciated hearing from you. I am enjoying your daily comments on your web site & it is a great web site. Hang in there. You are probably aware more than ever that Jesus loves you. My grandson, Scott Zeller, is a student @ Talbot Seminary in CA. He went to Uganda on a mission trip two summers in a row & now he has TB & is taking heavy antibiotics. Scott is a great kid & devoted to the Lord, like you. He'll go to Cambodia on a mssion trip this summer provided he is healthy by then. You are in my thoughts -- Love you lots in Christ, our Lord, Jeannie Reed
