enjoy the view

so here are a few shots to get your imaginations going. today i went for a extended walk around my neighborhood. i went out after the shofar announced the begining of Shabbat, the jewish day of rest. i went out then because the streets are significantly less busy as everyone closes their shops and goes home. i feel much less overwhelmed when i am not hustled along by the quickly moving crowd and can enjoy myself much more.

so here's the alleyway leading away from my building (the israel college of the bible) down to jofa street (a major buisiness district):

and this is the view facing back up towards my building... that little green gate back there is security gate outside icb. and that tree there in the foreground is a wonderful pomogranate tree.

my walk took me to jaffa gate in the old city wall. those are hassidic jews on their way to pray at the western wall (wailing wall). hassidic are the most strict observers of the Law.

and what is a lovely evening stroll without pausing and letting the moonlight soak your soul with it's light? that's the old city wall facing down onto david's city.
