best weekend EVER!

yes, ever.
i woke up at 6:30 on saturday morning for no good reason. i fought to go back to sleep but awakeness prevailed so i got up and unloaded my car (dad helped). then i carried on to vacuum and wash the inside then outside of my car. she's beautiful! and i finished with enough time to eat, pack for my weekend and then wash mom's car!
my friend, melissa, and my new friend dj picked me up around 2:30pm and i filled the hour drive to cooper's rock with stories from camp this summer and my other camp experiences. hilariousness!
we climbed until after sunset. i think my skill has improved at little even though my style is still a little unorthodox! see, melissa climbs like a ballerina ... i climb like a monkey. and i just say witty stuff all the time. i can't help it. :)
we rerated the climbs as colors instead numbers. so we would climb and then rate it: "i think that one was a turquois? what do you think?" "oh yeah, definately in the teal family."

when we got all our gear down and hiked out we set up camp at a little campground not far outside the park. i built a riproaring fire and we cooked our little dinners in a pot over the coals (wonderful!). i fell asleep with light rian falling on the tent (one of my favorite sounds) and woke up inside a cloud as a dense fog had fallen. we got up and packed up camp. richard met us with coffee and we headed to ohiopyle to take on the white water.

dj is a river guide so he led us (melissa's friends kate and sara met us at the put in point) down the youghiogheny river (affectionately known as the yach) where we made frequent stops to play under waterfalls and climb up and jump off boulders into the water. and i'm all showing off and flippin all over the place (i only smacked my head on the water once though). we ate lunch ona rock and peed in the river! can life get better? i submit that it cannot!
except it did! on the way home kate got invited to the steelers preseason game against the eagles and her friend had an extra ticket... so last night at 8:30pm as the grand finale to the best weekend ever (yes ever) i found myself in the back seat of a car with 3 people i had just met that day and we're driving to pittsburgh! and just to top that off our seats were perhaps 20 rows back from the field right on the goal line! so we got to watch a touchdown right in front of us and then a fumble recovery ran back for a touchdown with jumping and cheering... it was all too much fun!
and all the while i'm thanking kate for inviting me (oh, get this, caroline, the ticket owner is from london but all her family lives in new zealand now! she has some crazy stories too) and kate just keeps saying over and over again that this was just the best day ever!
