MAIL!

i got my first mail in israel today!! thank you aunt carol! you would send a card with food on it. :) you would love to cook here, yes, i'm certain you would!

lots of things to be excited about:
remember my new friends from last week? i've got to spend good time with them as well as meet their friends (who are now my friends). monday night emily and i went to ariel's apt. after class for dinner and "good times." tuesday while in the library i saw my friend lindsey from FFI. she was there to sign out. the girl, bless her heart, is going home to idaho on saturday. but seeing her there scored me an invite to her going away party tonight where i will meet and adopt her friends. (apparently there's a group that meets for soccer on friday afternoons not 100 meters from my dorm!!) and my friend becky just walked in and said people play ultimate frisbee on monday or tuesday nights!! i am blessed! that would be so good for my soul! sunday i have a field trip to the botanical gardens for my land, nature and society class (LNS - mostly it's ecology of israel). then i am meeting up with a CCU grad from way back. we weren't there together, but the fact that God brought us together here is a mild miracle, i think!

but, still, there is a certain heavinesss in my heart. it's not discouragement... just heavy. i have trouble falling asleep and usually eventually do to prays for peace in my mind and soul. nothing's wrong. and i am being blessed with relationships and good conversation. still something lacks in my soul. a hunger for something more. something deeper. purpose. desire. so i wait. and i thank God for the blessings. and i seek His face and His presence in the midst of... well, life.
