Stop, Kiwi Time

I've arrive in New Zealand and all is well. Some fun stories:

I missed my flight to las vegas on the 28th and got rerouted through philly. it was very scary at first until i realized that i and my bags would all make it to new zealand right on time. as it turned out, vegas was having terrible wind and lots of delays... so what began as an incredible misfortune may have been a big blessing instead!
being here has only increased my excitement and peace about being here. i am having fun playing with an old friend's almost 2 and almost 3 year olds. and he (colin) and his wife (davina) are wonderful hosts. last night we played games after the kids went to sleep. colin dominated GO! and 13, but i still own all nerts bragging rights and davina is in a need of a whole lot of redemption. dav was talking a lot of smack before hand and bowed out to the fear factor truth that he who talks the most smack loses first. (i don't watch the show much, but it's amazing how much american tv dominates the entertainment even here.)
the flight over was fine. 12 hours of which i slept through the first 10 straight. i woke up just in time for breakfast and a movie before landing.
i'm 16 hours ahead of EST so when it is 6:01am on the 31st it will be 12:01 jan 1st here. i told mom i'd call and wish her a happy new year.

here's to what's next... looking forward to the adventure!
