beck is gone
she left on saturday night. back. she's gone back. i know it has been a while since she left. but this weekend had a lot going on. i didn't want to dump everything all at once.
becky is my friend. she was a gift. i just came home from class one day and she was here. i think she saw the confusion on my face cause she just smiled and said, "hi, i'm becky." i knew immediately that i liked her. there was something comforting about her quiet, gentle spirit; her warm, welcoming eyes; her friendly smile; her soft voice. yes, i loved her instantly.
(and those of you who know me, know that once i love someone they only have a matter of time...)
our friendship grew out of openess and acceptance. beck is a fantastic listener and has a wealth of wisdom. a blessing to one so young. oh, we are both 25, but we have very different stories. and one of my favorite truths came up often in our conversations, "there is nothing that we can do, that God can't redeem."
plus, she is hilarious. not like me. we're different funny. we are different a lot. in fact, our hearts beat very different. but to the same Muse. for some reason He saw fit for us to share life together for a bit. and i am so glad that He did.
if you're gonna keep up you need to know the names of more of my friends. cause they are gonna be popping up on here more and more. i am real thankful for their presence in my life here:
Ariel - a student at Hebrew U. she is from CO and i am thankful that i will see her again the next time i go out to play in the mountains! she is another gift. a friend who wants to be real. i love her too.
Elizabeth - a friend from church. right now we only see eachother twice a week if that. and i am definately thankful for our friendship (and the ensuing laughter).
Liz - lives upstairs and works for the college. she bakes the most amazing banana bread! (i trade: chocolate cake for banana bread) she has been and will become more and more (i hope) be someone i can go to for "older womanly things" and someone who can become just a friend.
Vivian - my 69 year old roomate. she is a amusing old lady who finds me humorous. plus she is a heavy sleeper. the sound of her breathing is actually quite soothing. she always is asleep before me. i like falling asleep to the sound of her breathing.
the rain is coming down hard outside. i love it. the sound is powerful and loud. it makes me feel safe.
